Seven legal and human rights organizations held last Wednesday a meeting with several diplomats at Yabous Cultural Center in Occupied Jerusalem and briefed them on Israel’s escalation of its violations against the Palestinian following the US recognition of the holy city as an Israeli capital.
The meeting was held by al-Haq Organization the Society of St. Yves the Jerusalem Legal Aid and Human Rights Center the Civic Coalition for Palestinian Rights in Jerusalem Addameer Association for Prisoner Support and Human Rights and Badil Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights.
Representatives of these organizations presented to officials from the diplomatic missions in Jerusalem and other rights groups reports and documents on the recent situation of human rights in Jerusalem according to al-Jazeera Net.
Amina Abdul-Haq from the Civic Coalition for Palestinian Rights said that it had talked during the meeting about the legal status of Jerusalem and Israel’s attempts to impose its control over its Old City including its recent attempt to impose taxes on church property.
She also highlighted the exposure of Jerusalemites to a systematic demolition policy and how they are stripped of their residency rights with the aim of Judaizing the city.
