Russia’s Foreign Ministry has sent the head of Hamas’s Political Bureau Ismail Haneyya an official invitation to visit Moscow.
According to a press statement by Haneyya office on Wednesday the invitation was conveyed by Russian ambassador to Palestine Haidar Rashid during his meeting with Haneyya in Gaza city.
Haneyya hailed Russia’s efforts regarding the Palestinian issue and discussed with Haidar the latest domestic and global developments.
For his part the Russian diplomat affirmed that his country is exerting all possible efforts at all levels to serve the Palestinian cause.
Hamas and Russia have formal relations. Several delegations from the Palestinian movement had visited Moscow before for talks with senior Russian officials.
