The Supreme Muslim Council (SMC) in occupied Jerusalem called Saturday for cancelling Adhan ban bill stressing that the occupation authority could never change laws in occupied territories.
Suspending Adhan ban bill is not enough and it must be cancelled altogether the council said in a statement issued Saturday.
The statement warned of the serious implications of Israeli attempts to ban Adhan in occupied Jerusalem.
“Our Islamic religion respects other religions’ beliefs and rituals” the statement pointed out.
Islamic call to prayers cannot be considered as “noise pollution;” rather the real noise pollution is the sound of Israeli military jets the sound of Israeli military tanks and bombs according to the SMC statement.
The Israeli occupation authorities have no right to intervene in Islamic religious rituals or to change the status quo in occupied Jerusalem the council underlined.
