Al-Aqsa Mosque preacher Ekrima Sabri said on Friday that Israel is trying to interfere in the work of the Islamic Waqf Department and the new appointments of Aqsa guards.
Ekrima pointed out in his Friday sermon that Israel is waging a campaign of retaliatory attacks against Jerusalemites and Palestinians of the 1948 occupied territories in an attempt to cover up its failure.
Al-Aqsa preacher affirmed as he spoke of the 48th anniversary of the burning of al-Aqsa Mosque which falls on 21st August that the Mosque is still to this day subjected to several forms of Israeli attacks and violations including settlers’ repeated incursions into the site and excavations under it.
On behalf of Jerusalem clerics Sheikh Sabri praised the great role Jerusalemites and Palestinians of the 1948 occupied territories had played in supporting al-Aqsa Mosque in the latest Israeli escalation.
Tens of thousands of Palestinians from Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories performed Friday prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque amid strict Israeli security measures.
