Scores of Palestinians injured in West Bank Jerusalem

A Palestinian young man was injured on Saturday by the live bullets of the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) during clashes that erupted at the northern entrance of the West Bank city of al-Bireh.

Local sources reported that a Palestinian young man was injured in the foot while dozens suffered breathing problems after IOF soldiers fired live bullets and tear gas bombs at Palestinian students who marched at the northern entrance of al-Bireh city.

The sources added that the students headed from Birzeit University to the entrance of al-Bireh to mourn their 20-year-old colleague Amer Halabeyyeh who was killed by the IOF live bullets on Thursday.

In a related development 12 Palestinians were wounded by rubber-coated metal bullets while 36 others suffered breathing problems during clashes between Palestinian youths and Israeli police in Abu Dis town east of Occupied Jerusalem according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

“Israeli police fired tear gas bombs at Palestinian students and citizens and attacked Palestinian vehicles and homes in the vicinity of Al-Quds University” eyewitnesses reported adding that fire broke out in the parks of the university.

In another development Israeli police arrested the Jerusalemite young woman Maram Dawabsheh from Al-Wad Street in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Moreover Jewish settlers protected by IOF soldiers attacked a Palestinian young man in the Jaber neighborhood near the Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in the center of the Old City of al-Khalil.

Earlier at dawn IOF detained nine Palestinian youths after attacking them during raids in the West Bank cities of al-Khalil and Ramallah.

Last night the Palestinian young man Qassem al-Arrouj 22 suffered bruises after the IOF soldiers attacked him in Taquu town east of the West Bank city of Bethlehem.

Moreover IOF soldiers blocked Ras Aljoura the northern entrance of al-Khalil while clashes were reported between Palestinian youths and Israeli soldiers in the vicinity of Tariq Ben Ziyad crossroads south of al-Khalil.
