Friday 27-August-2021

The Sword of Jerusalem battle which the Palestinian resistance fought about three months ago against the Israeli occupation has constituted a historic turning point not only at the internal Palestinian level but also at the international level where it has become a beacon for many free people and believers in the resistance option around the world.

Following the footsteps of the “Vanguards of Liberation” youth camps which were launched this year by the Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza under the name “The Sword of Jerusalem” the Ain Jalut Scouts which has been active in northern Syria since 2016 organized a camp carrying the same name.

Such camps in northern Syria aim to establish a set of values among the participants through holding a number of purposeful activities.

Leader of the camp Ayman Mohamed told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that such summer camps are normally called “Scouts for Jerusalem” in order to highlight the Palestinian cause and motivate the participants but this year’s camp was named “the Sword of Jerusalem” in an effort to make such youth activity a beacon that reminds the Muslim and Arab nations and their young people of their undying cause of Jerusalem.

Mohamed said that scouting in their camps is shaped by training boys and young men to coexist with the flora and fauna of the woodland to get used to outdoor life to practice and obtain the skills of backwoodsmanship camping pioneering and comradeship and to learn how to rely on themselves take on responsibilities and exchange experiences with peers.

He affirmed that the recent events in Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip inspired them to give their scout camp the current name which he also said was intended in particular to send a message that the Palestinian cause and the issues of the Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem belong to the entire Arab and Muslim nations.
