Settler runs over sheep south of al-Khalil

Saturday 3-October-2020

An Israeli settler ran over a herd of sheep near the town of Al-Samou south of the al-Khalil province of Friday evening.

Fuad Al-Amour the coordinator of the Protection and Steadfastness Committee in the south of al-Khalil stated that a settler ran over 10 sheep in the bypass road near the town of Al-Samou which led to their death. These sheep belong to the Palestinian citizen Ali Awada.

Settlers deliberately provoke the Palestinians in the West Bank through a series of violations and attacks on their property such as the crimes of running over sheep.

A similar crime was committed by a settler against Ayed Al-Shawahin where he was attacked by a settler from Ma’on settlement on 30/08/2020.

Al-Shawahin miraculously escaped when a settler tried to run him over with his vehicle which led to the death of two sheep and at least 10 others were injured before the settler got away.

Al-Khalil is the second city after Jerusalem in the settlement targeting priorities of the Israeli occupation authorities because of its historical and religious significance.

Palestinian estimates indicate that there are about 650000 Israeli settlers in settlements in the West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem living in 164 Jewish-only settlements and 116 outposts.
