An extremist Jewish settlers on Wednesday afternoon set fire to an olive grove in al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya town south of Nablus city in the occupied West Bank.
Mayor of the town Samer Owais said that the guard of Eli settlement came to the main entrance to the town aboard his car and quickly set alight olive trees before fleeing the scene.
Owais added that local residents spotted him and hastened to put out the fire before a crew from the Palestinian civil defense showed up and joined the efforts.
However the fire caused extensive damage to over three dunums of land.
