Dozens of Jewish settlers on Thursday assaulted Palestinian citizens in al-Khalil while the Israeli occupation army intensified its presence east of Tulkarem in the West Bank.
According to the Palestinian Information Center’s (PIC) reporter dozens of settlers brutalized citizens in Tel Rumeida neighborhood in al-Khalil city in the afternoon and voiced racist slurs and offensive words against Arabs
Another group of extremist settlers also stormed and toured areas in Beit Ummar town north of al-Khalil.
A local activist said that armed settlers along with scores of children from Gush Etzion settlement entered Thagrat al-Shabek Jabel Abu Suda and Wadi Safa areas of the town as they were singing Hebrew songs claiming that those “lands belong to Israel.”
In a separate incident a large number of Israeli troops stormed and encircled Kafr al-Labad town east of Tulkarem on the same day.
Local sources reported seeing soldiers entering alleys and walking on main streets of the town where they stopped and interrogated some citizens for a while.
They also combed a bushy area in the town and set up a makeshift checkpoint on the road between Kafr al-Labad and Anabta towns.
