Settlers attack Palestinian cars in eastern Nablus

Sunday 2-October-2022

Some Palestinian vehicles sustained damage on Sunday morning when a horde of extremist Jewish settlers hurled rocks at them on a road near Beit Furik town in the east of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

Local official Ghassan Daghlas said that a group of settlers launched a stone-throwing attack on Palestinian cars near the Israeli military checkpoint at the main entrance of Beit Furik town damaging some of them.

Daghlas added that the settlers carried out their attack after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened the checkpoint to Palestinian vehicles after closing it for some hours following the shooting operation that led to the injury of one settler in a nearby area.

Local sources also said that scuffles broke out between Palestinian citizens and Israeli soldiers at the checkpoint in the morning.

Israeli soldiers and settlers reportedly severely beat two Red Crescent employees and injured them at the Beit Furik checkpoint.

The Red Crescent said that two of its ambulance officers were wounded after Israeli forces and settlers attacked them at the checkpoint adding that one of them was transferred to hospital for medical assistance.

Meanwhile the IOF intensified its military measures at the main entrance of Salem village in eastern Nablus and prevented Palestinian citizens from leaving and entering it before storming it and raiding homes.

Clashes also broke out between dozens of local youths and the IOF in Salem town.
