Settlers cut down 170 olive trees in al-Lubban al-Sharqiya

Wednesday 30-March-2022

A group of Jewish settlers cut down 170 olive trees in the eastern al-Lubban al-Sharqiya lands south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank on Wednesday afternoon.

Local activist Ghassan Daghlas affirmed that settlers cut down 170 olive trees from the “Al-Rahwat” area belonging to the citizens Yacoub Raja and Akram Owais.

Daghlas said that nearly 80 settler attacks were carried out against Palestinian property in the vicinity of Nablus Governorate.

He also confirmed that the settlers set fire to a Palestinian car in Asira al-Qibliya town south of Nablus warning of further settler escalation in the coming days.

Earlier this week the Office of the European Union Representative in Palestine pointed to “the rising levels of settler violence that only fuels further tensions.”

The EU has also called for the protection of the Palestinian people “in accordance with Israel’s obligations under international law.”
