A horde of extremist Jewish settlers on Thursday wreaked havoc on a Palestinian-owned olive grove near thee illegal settlement of Mitzpe Yair east of Yatta town in southern al-Khalil.
Local official Fouad Lamour said that a group of settlers destroyed and uprooted dozens of olive trees in Quwawis area east of Yatta town adding that the grove belongs to a local farmer called Jabr Zain.
Lamour affirmed that such practice was an attempt by the settlers in the area to take over the Palestinian-owned lands in order to carry out more settlement projects.
Earlier on Wednesday settlers burned 50 olive trees in Deir Ballut town west of Salfit. The grove belongs to local residents.
