The Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil City was exposed to serious desecration last night when hundreds of extremist Jewish settlers held and participated in a boisterous concert that involved singing dancing and drinking alcohol at the Islamic holy site.
The settler revelry at the Ibrahimi Mosque which started on Sunday night continued into the early morning hours of Monday.
Local sources said that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) imposed strict military measures around the Mosque and the southern area of al-Khalil City in order to secure the settler celebrations at the Islamic holy site.
Ghassan al-Rajabi director of the Ibrahimi Mosque explained that the IOF closed the Ibrahimi Mosque to Muslim worshipers and allowed buses carrying hundreds of settlers from the illegal settlements of the West Bank to enter the Old City of al-Khalil in order to hold celebrations at the Ibrahimi Mosque.
Rajabi added that the settler revelry involved verbal attacks on the Islamic religion Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and the Arabs as well as provocative dances and racist and obscene songs.
