A large group of Jewish settlers on Tuesday evening broke into a multi-floor house belonging to a Palestinian family near the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil Old City south of the West Bank.
According to a local source more than 50 settlers stormed the three-story house under military protection in order to seize it.
A resident of the house which belongs to Abu Rajab family said that Israeli border soldiers gathered outside the house for over two days and allowed the settlers on Tuesday to occupy it.
Settlers already claimed they had bought the house from its owners but the latter filed a lawsuit with an Israeli court accusing them of forging official papers with the aim of stealing the house.
Accordingly the court prevented anyone from entering the second and third floors of the building and authorized the Israeli army and its civil administration to protect the property until a final ruling on the case is issued.
