A horde of extremist Jewish settlers on Wednesday burned 50 olive trees and other trees in the east of Deir Ballut town west of Salfit province in the occupied West Bank.
Eyewitnesses said that most of the burned trees were perennial trees adding that the settlers also set fire to forest and almond trees in the area.
The arson attack happened in a Palestinian agricultural area near the illegal settlement of Leshem.
Palestinian field researcher Khaled Maali said that large parts of the same area had already been bulldozed and appropriated by the Israeli occupation army and local owners of structures there also received stop-order and demolition ultimatums.
In a separate incident another gang of Jewish settlers on the same day attacked Palestinian vehicles traveling on the Huwara-Nablus road south of the city.
According to eyewitnesses a group of settlers spread through an olive grove near the junction of Burin town before hurling stones at passing cars.
Several cars reportedly sustained material damage in the attack. Luckily no one was hurt.
