A horde of Jewish settlers on Monday placed two mobile homes on a Palestinian-owned tract of land in Deir Istiya town west of Salfit while other settlers expelled local farmers from their lands in a nearby area called Mount al-Ras.
Deir Istiya mayor Sa’eid Zaidan said that settlers deployed two prefabricated homes in Harikat Abu Zuhair area west of the town.
Zaidan added that this tract of land is threatened with annexation as settlers want to establish an outpost near the illegal settlement of Havot Yair.
10 days ago Havot Yair settlers bulldozed the same land and built a dirt road reaching from the settlement to the area.
Meanwhile a group of armed settlers escorted by soldiers forced Palestinian farmers at gunpoint to leave their lands in Mount al-Ras area west of Salfit.
