Dozens of settlers stormed on Wednesday the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and performed Talmudic rituals under heavy police protection despite the continued complete lockdown in the Holy City.
Jerusalemite sources said that 24 settlers broke into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in the morning period of the daily incursions.
Settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa and took pictures of themselves in front of the Dome of the Rock according to the sources.
The Jerusalemite activist Hanadi al-Halawani denounced the fact that settlers are allowed to access the Al-Aqsa Mosque while the worshipers whose homes are a few meters away from Al-Aqsa are barred from it.
These incursions are part of periodic tours that start from Maghareba Gate to al-Silsila Gate passing through the al-Rahma Gate area during which Talmudic rituals are usually performed.
The Israeli occupation authority extended the lockdown imposed on Jerusalem for two weeks under the pretext of limiting the spread of the coronavirus pandemic and prevented anyone from walking more than a kilometer from the vicinity of his home.
