Settlers storm West Bank areas attack Palestinians

Monday 19-July-2021

Dozens of Jewish settlers on Sunday evening raided and attacked Palestinian citizens in the West Bank while others planted trees in the Jordan Valley.

Local sources said that dozens of settlers from the Ramat Yishai and Beit Hadassah settlements which are built in the center of al-Khalil attacked residents with stones and beat them while they were passing on al-Shuhada Street in the city center.

Hajj Shaher Abu Eisha was injured in his face and was taken to the hospital for treatment while other citizens were wounded and several houses were attacked.

Meanwhile the official Palestinian News Agency reported that Jewish settlers stormed the outskirts of the Tira neighborhood in Ramallah from the direction of Ein Qinya town to perform Talmudic rituals.

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) set up a military checkpoint on the road linking the Tira neighborhood with Ein Qinya to secure the settlers’ incursion according to the agency.

In al-Khalil IOF raided Bab al-Zawiya and Beersheba Street and forced the shop owners to close them in order to secure the settlers’ storming of an archaeological site.

The IOF soldiers also forced the civilians to leave and provided protection for dozens of settlers who broke into the so-called “Tomb of Otniel Ben Knaz” and performed Talmudic rituals.

In the northern Jordan Valley Jewish settlers continue to plant dozens of trees in the Suwayda area as part of a new settlement project.
