Israeli settlers stormed Thursday morning the courtyards of al-Aqsa Mosque via the Mughrabeh Gate guarded by special police forces.
Israeli special forces were earlier deployed throughout the compound to pave the way for the settlers’ break-in.
The settlers carried out provocative tours inside the courtyards of the holy site and tried to perform Talmudic rituals amid the presence of Palestinian worshipers who started shouting Takbeer in protest against the settlers’ presence.
Meanwhile several Jerusalemites especially women were denied access into al-Aqsa compound.
Extremist settlers have repeatedly violated the sanctity of al-Aqsa Mosque on an almost daily basis and always under the protection of armed forces which often attack Palestinian worshipers who try to protect their place of worship.
