A group of Israeli settlers stormed Monday morning an archaeological site known as Dar al-Dareb area in Qaraqat Bani Zeid town to the north of Salfit eyewitnesses reported.
Local activist Khaled Maali warned against the Israeli provocative break-ins into Palestinian archaeological sites located throughout Palestinian towns in the occupied West Bank.
Such attempts aim to wipe out Palestinian identity and to falsify history he added.
Dar al-Dareb area is a Roman heritage that resembles the world-famous Petra city he explained.
The researcher also expressed deep concern over Israeli new settlement plans at the expanse of archaeological sites in Salfit province.
He concluded by stressing the importance of the conservation and restoration of archaeological sites to foil Israeli Judaization attempts.
