Wednesday 23-June-2021

Dozens of Jewish settlers on Wednesday uprooted olive trees and damaged an irrigation network in the Wadi Qana area northwest of Salfit.

The municipality of Deir Istia said in a statement that during the past two days settlers cut down 10 olive trees destroyed two water tanks and an irrigation network. Settlers also cut down 10 trees on the farm of Qassem Mansour and stole a donkey from that area.

In a separate development the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) closed all roads leading to Mount Sobeih in Beita town south of Nablus on Wednesday morning.

Musa Hamayel the deputy mayor of Beita said in press statements that the IOF bulldozers have been working since the early morning hours to close all roads leading to the mountain. The mountain witnesses activities as part of the popular resistance to confront the establishment of a settlement outpost on its summit.

He added that IOF soldiers prevented Palestinian citizens from reaching the mountain stressing that these measures will not deter them from continuing the struggle and confronting the settlement plans.
