Several Palestinians injured in IOF settlers attacks

Tuesday 1-March-2022

Several Palestinians were injured after being attacked by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and Jewish settlers in different areas in the West Bank on Monday evening.

In al-Khalil a young man was arrested after being shot and injured in his feet in Halhul town.

Several Palestinians suffered from teargas inhalation in Al-Jawaya community east of Yatta town after being stormed by a group of settlers under IOF protection.

A similar attack was carried out in Aa-Lubban Al-Sharqiah town south of Nablus where settlers tried to force their way into the town under military protection.

However local residents succeeded to stop the attack. Several rubber bullet injures and breathing problems from teargas inhalation were reported during the confrontation.

In Salfit IOF troops stormed Deir Estia town amid heavy firing of teargas and sound bombs. No injuries or arrests were reported.

Also in Salfit a group of Jewish settlers attacked Najeh Harb family and forced them to leave their agricultural land in the town of Kafr ad-Dik.

Meanwhile Israeli forces violently attacked three Palestinian schools in al-Khalil injuring dozens of students and teachers.

The settlers also destroyed an agricultural facility in the Arara area and seized a bulldozer and a truck in Atouf town south of Tubas.

Recently the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Tor Wencesland said that the setters intensified attacks on Palestinians and their property in the occupied West Bank.

“This month has witnessed a worrying continuation of the trends I have outlined repeatedly in this Council particularly the destabilizing deterioration of the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory” he said in a statement issued last Wednesday.
