Dozens of Palestinian civilians suffered breathing problems during confrontations on Monday with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in the Al-Wad area between the towns of Ni’lin and Qibya west of Ramallah.
Imad al-Khawaja Ni’lin mayor said in a press statement that clashes broke out and the IOF soldiers fired rubber-coated metal bullets sound bombs and tear gas canisters at citizens’ homes. Dozens of civilians suffered breathing difficulties.
Meanwhile IOF held for several hours a bulldozer belonging to Qibya Village Council which was working on land reclamation in the same area.
A group of settlers is trying to seize the lands of Palestinian citizens in the Mount Al-Alam area north of Ni’lin and have built barracks there.
Activists called for activating the nighttime clashes on Mount Al-Alam similar to their counterparts in Mount Sobeih south of Nablus in response to the settlers’ violations and their attempt to control the mountain.
