Monday 27-October-2014

RAMALLAH (PIC)– Three Palestinian detainees’ health situation has been seriously deteriorating in Israeli jails due to the Israeli Prison Service’s deliberate medical negligence.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said that the heath condition of the prisoner Ibrahim Ghussein has sharply deteriorated due to deliberate medical neglect .

Following his visit to Raymond prison the PPS’ lawyer said that the prisoner Ghussein suffers from difficult health problems including throat tumor sight problems constant headache stomach inflammations and high blood pressure. However he did not receive any appropriate medical treatment.

Ghussein from Gaza Strip was detained in 2009 and sentenced to 6 years and half imprisonment. He is a father of three children.

For his part the 21-year-old prisoner Mohamed Ibrahim from Bethlehem suffers from enlarged spleen that caused him chronic pain in his legs and back.

Ibrahim’s health status has seriously worsened due to his repeated transfer and for long hours in the “Bosta” the designated vehicle to transfer prisoners to the military courts and back to prison. It is in fact a mobile cage with a metal chair.

Along the same line the prisoner Saed Issa 42 suffers from serious injury to his bones and fractures after being shot several times by Israeli forces during his detention in 2003.

Issa remained in coma for 17 days following his detention the PPS said pointing out that despite his difficult health condition he was deprived from receiving any medical treatment. Issa is serving a 26-year imprisonment term.
