Sheikh Najeh Bakirat deputy director of the Islamic Awqaf in Occupied Jerusalem has affirmed that any Israeli plan to deduct part of the Aqsa Mosque for Jewish settlers would mean the demise of the occupation state.
In a statement on Tuesday Sheikh Bakirat warned of ignoring Israel’s Judaization schemes that target the Aqsa Mosque and called for taking such plots seriously adding that the occupation state would not waste any opportunity to divide the Mosque spatially between Muslims and Jews.
Sheikh Bakirat who is also head of the Aqsa Academy for Science and Heritage asserted that the Israeli occupation state mulls over different proposals calling for seizing one of four locations at the Aqsa Mosque including the eastern area between the Marwani prayer building and the Bab al-Rahma site.
According to the Jerusalemite official the second proposal calls for earmarking the area between al-Kaas Fountain the Qibli prayer building and the Dome of the Rock plateau.
The third proposed site is located in the northern area of the Aqsa Mosque and the fourth one is next to the internal side of the Mosque’s western wall (al-Buraq wall) he added.
He underlined that the Aqsa Mosque would remain “an Islamic holy site with a divine title deed” despite all the Israeli attempts to tame the Arab and Islamic streets into accepting the idea of taking one or two dunums of the Aqsa Mosque for Jewish settlers.
