Sheikh Sabri: The situation in J’lem tends to explode

Tuesday 20-April-2021

Sheikh Ekrima Sabri head of the Higher Islamic Council in Occupied Jerusalem has warned that the Israeli occupation state’s persistence in its hostile practices against Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque and its vicinity would lead the situation in the holy city to explode.

In press remarks Sheikh Sabri said that such growing Israeli practices would only increase the Jerusalemites’ determination to defend the Aqsa Mosque and their legitimate rights expressing his confidence that Israel’s attempt to break the Jerusalemites’ steadfastness would be doomed to failure.

He affirmed that the Israeli occupation feels disturbed by seeing the large presence of Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque pointing out that the exposure of loudspeaker wires at the Aqsa Mosque to sabotage recently at the hands of the Israeli police are part of their frenzied attempts to curtail the numbers of Muslims at the holy site.

“Bab al-Amud Bab al-Sahira and Salahuddin Street are important areas of Jerusalem so we see that most of the confrontations happen in these areas which the occupation is trying hard to control” the Jerusalemite official underlined alluding to the daily night-time police assaults on local citizens in these areas during the holy month of Ramadan.

“The people of Jerusalem feel that they are alone on the ground and rely on themselves to defend the Aqsa Mosque” Sheikh Sabri said calling on the Arab and Islamic worlds to support the Jerusalemites’ steadfastness.
