Sheikh Ekrima Sabri the preacher of the Al-Aqsa Mosque has called for organizing massive demonstrations in support of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a press statement on Tuesday Sheikh Sabri stressed that the Jewish settlers’ break-ins into the Al-Aqsa Mosque are deliberately facilitated by tight protection of the Israeli police during the Jewish holidays.
Sheikh Sabri underlined that such massive raids aim at changing the status quo in Jerusalem holding the Israeli occupation authorities responsible for any resultant violence in the holy city.
For his part Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said that the Israeli escalation at the Al-Aqsa Mosque reflect that Israel is adamant on provoking a religious conflict in the holy site.
“Palestinians will continue resisting the Israeli ongoing attacks against Al-Aqsa” Qassem tweeted on Tuesday affirming that the shooting attack near Shuafat refugee camp in Occupied Jerusalem last Saturday will be followed by more resistance activities.
Earlier in the morning the Israeli police forces stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in large numbers on the second day of the so-called “Jewish Throne Day” to facilitate the settlers’ incursion.
