Sheikh Ikrima Sabri head of the higher Islamic commission in the holy city has appealed to all concerned parties to stand by the Palestinian citizens whose homes were demolished by the Israeli authorities in Qalandiya town north of Occupied Jerusalem.
Sheikh Sabri called for helping the affected people to rebuild their homes.
He made his remarks during the Friday khutba (sermon) which he delivered in the sit-in tent in the town.
He called for supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian natives in the town and not leaving them alone in the face of the Israeli occupation authorities.
“The occupation’s policy of demolishing citizens’ homes and annexing and seizing lands is based on an aggressive strategy being implemented through high-level coordination between the different arms and institutions of the Israeli government to strengthen settlement expansion and kill the two-state solution” he stated.
Residents from the town erected the sit-in tent last July after the Israeli authorities demolished 11 buildings of 30 apartments at the pretext of unlicensed construction. They seek support to rebuild their homes and protect others threatened with demolition.
