Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani affirmed Tuesday that the Palestinian cause would remain a top priority for his country in view of Israel’s intransigence and its fait accompli policy.
Sheikh Tamim made his remark during the 47th ordinary session of the Consultative Assembly of Qatar.
The Qatari Emir called on the international community to hold Israel accountable for all its illegal practices against the Palestinian people and to work on ending the unjust blockade on Gaza and the settlement activities in the occupied territories.
He also called for restarting the peace talks between the Palestinians and Israeli on the basis of the two-state solution the Palestinian right of return and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Emir urged the Palestinian people to restore their unity to confront the plots being hatched against their national cause.
