The Shin Bet Israel’s intelligence service on Wednesday evening arrested a Palestinian passenger at the Beit Hanoun (Erez) border crossing in northern Gaza after he went there to obtain a travel permit.
The passenger was identified as Salah al-Qarra from Khan Younis in southern Gaza and was arrested after he went to the Israeli side of the crossing for an interview in order to obtain a travel permit according to Asra Media Office.
In a similar incident on Tuesday Israeli officers arrested a Gazan passenger called Waleed Deeb at the same crossing after he tried to obtain a permit to travel through Allenby crossing in the West Bank to Jordan.
However the citizen was detained and interrogated for several hours before he was taken away by Israeli officers.
13 Palestinian passengers from Gaza had been arrested in 2019 at the Beit Hanoun crossing.
