Head of the Hamas Movement in Gaza Yahya al-Sinwar has affirmed that arrangements are underway to prepare for the participation of delegations from the Palestinian factions in the comprehensive national reconciliation talks to be held next month in Cairo.
Sinwar made his remarks during his meeting with representatives from the factions in Gaza on Thursday.
The Hamas chief said that several major issues would be tabled during the Cairo talks by the participating factions especially with regard to the formation of the unity government the Palestine Liberation Organization public freedoms and elections.
He briefed the attendees on the recent reconciliation agreement that was signed with Fatah in Cairo under Egyptian auspices stressing that his Movement accepted the deal out of its keenness on ending the division.
Sinwar said that his Movement would move forward in implementing what had been agreed upon with Fatah and eliminate all the obstacles on the way of achieving that goal.
He also pointed out that Hamas obtained guarantees that would ensure the success of the efforts being made to end the Palestinian division forever.
For their part representatives of the factions expressed their support for the reconciliation agreement and applauded Hamas for dealing constructively with it.
They also voiced readiness to positively participate in the national dialog to be held in Cairo on November 21 2017.
