Hamas leader in Gaza Yehya as-Sinwar has stressed the need to prevent the recent desecration of the Aqsa Mosque by Israeli police forces from happening once again warning that a religious war could break out if the world leaders did not move to curb Israel’s violations at the Islamic holy site.
Addressing a gathering of national and resistance figures in Gaza City on Saturday Sinwar said that dozens of Jewish synagogues around the world could be defiled if the recent scene of the Aqsa Mosque being desecrated by police forces repeated itself at the behest of Israeli decision-makers.
“We wish that the battle could not turn into a religious one but if the occupation leaders and its extremists want such thing to happen we are prepared for it and accept the challenge … We will not hesitate to give anything for our holy sites and religion and take the right decision in this regard regardless of the price” the Hamas leader underlined.
“The world has an opportunity to move now to prevent this major battle from happening. However we as Palestinians Arabs and Muslims are fully ready to defend our Aqsa Mosque and we will not hesitate to do our duty” he added.
He called on the resistance factions and its armed wings to get prepared for such battle affirming that the battle would begin after Ramadan if the occupation state persisted in its aggression against the Aqsa Mosque.
He pointed out that the occupation regime and its settlers plan to storm the Aqsa Mosque in next May to mark their upcoming national days (the occupation of Palestine and Jerusalem).
“The first barrage that we will launch in the next battle will consist of 1111 rockets and this number denotes the date of leader Yasser Arafat’s martyrdom so we will call it ‘the salvo of leader Abu Ammar’” Sinwar said.
He also stressed that the recent heroic operations in 1948 occupied Palestine proved that the Israeli occupation entity is “weaker than the spider’s web” adding that the recent resistance operations made the occupation in a state of confusion and chaos.
