Palestinian ex-prisoners whose salaries were recently halted by the Palestinian Authority (PA) continued on Saturday their protest sit-in for the 54th consecutive day at Yasser Arafat Square in Ramallah City. They also went on hunger strike for the 13th day in protest at the salary cut-off.
The protesters said that the first stage of the hunger strike involves refraining from taking food except for water and liquids. While in the second stage they are going to confine their nutrition to salt and water only.
The ex-detainees charged the PA with responsibility in full for their suffering especially for the sick and old people. They demanded the PA to restore their monthly payments.
