Belgian institutions and unions in coordination with the Palestinian community in the country staged a sit-in on Friday outside BNP Paribas Bank in Brussels in protest at its investments in Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The participants carried placards denouncing European investments in illegal settlements and calling for withdrawing them.
The participants urged the Belgian bank to follow the example of the Norwegian pension fund and other financial institutions in Europe that had decided to divest from any companies involved in serious violations of the international law in the occupied territories.
