Tuesday 31-August-2021

A number of Palestinian citizens were injured and others suffered from their exposure to tear gas on Monday night when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked anti-siege protests in the east of the besieged Gaza Strip.

According to the health ministry in Gaza six protesters suffered injuries during the events last night with three of them wounded by live ammunition.

A reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that three young men suffered bullet injuries one of them seriously as the IOF fired live ammunition and tear gas grenades at protesters near the border fence in the east of Khuza’a town south of Gaza.

The IOF also fired flares over the area and showered the protesters with tear gas canisters using quadcopters.

During the events on the border the young men torched tires and fired firecrackers towards the border fence.

Tension escalated in the Gaza Strip in recent weeks as the Israeli occupation government continues to impose tight restrictions on the coastal enclave.
