Six young men injured by IOF gunfire in violent clashes in Jenin

Six Palestinian young men suffered bullet injuries at dawn Tuesday when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at them during clashes described as the fiercest in recent years in Jenin City.

Local sources told a reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that the industrial zone in Jenin turned into a real battlefield after resistance fighters engaged for several hours in armed clashes with Israeli forces.

They added that intensive gunfire exchange and explosions happened during the clashes.

At least six young men suffered bullet injuries when the IOF opened fire at them during the events in the industrial zone of Jenin. One young man identified as Diya as-Sabarini was seriously wounded in his abdomen and was rushed to a hospital in Nablus.

Clashes also took place between local youths and the IOF in Yamun town west of Jenin after the latter stormed al-Khamaysa neighborhood and raided the house of Jamil al-Bardiya and arrested him along with one of his sons in order to pressure another son to turn himself in.

Local sources said that three young men suffered from their exposure to tear gas during the clashes.

In a separate incident a Palestinian young man was seriously injured by Israeli gunfire in the west of Jenin City on Monday evening.

According to local sources a young man from Umm al-Fahm City in the 1948 occupied territory (Israel) suffered serious bullet injuries when Israeli forces opened fire at him during his presence near the separation wall in western Jenin.

The wounded young man who was identified as Tawfiq Agbariya was transferred to a hospital in the Haifa district.

The IOF also kidnaped on the same day a young man in southern Jenin.

According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society a young man identified as Mohamed Obeid a resident of Anza village in Jenin was taken prisoner at the Israeli military checkpoint of Dotan near Ya’bad town in southern Jenin.
