Spain condemned the demolition by Israel of Palestinian houses and structures in the village of Abu Nuwar east of Occupied Jerusalem actions that it considered contrary to law and a serious obstacle to peace.
In a statement the social democratic government of Pedro Sanchez also reiterated its urgent appeal to the Israeli authorities not to go ahead with their plan to demolish the town of Khan al-Ahmar imminently.
“These demolitions are contrary to international law and constitute a serious obstacle to peace” warned the Spanish government.
The Tel Aviv regime began the process of destroying the Bedouin town of Khan al-Ahmar and Abu Nawar in the midst of protests by residents and international activists.
Israeli forces moved to the site in the morning along with bulldozers and detained scores of people including residents and activists.
The town home to about 180 people is located between the Jewish settlements of Maale Adumim and Kfar Adumim just less than 20 kilometers from Occupied Jerusalem.
