A man suspected of Haifa shooting attacks earlier this week handed himself over to Israeli police on Thursday Israeli sources reported.
Israeli police said in a statement that the suspect in the Haifa shooting-spree surrendered Thursday evening to the police.
The suspect turned himself in Acre police station where he was arrested and taken in for questioning by the Shin Bet the police said.
Earlier massive police forces descended upon the Haifa neighborhoods where the suspect was spotted.
Initially Israeli police suspected that Tuesday’s shootings may have been gang-related but subsequent investigation has increasingly led police to believe the incident may have been nationalistically motivated.
The first shooting on Haifa’s Haatzma’ut Road resulted in the death of an Israeli man and the injury of another. The second shooting which took place some 30 minutes later moderately wounded another Israeli.
