RAMALLAH (PIC)– International Secretary of the Swedish Social Democratic Party Ann Linde affirmed during a meeting with Palestinian Information Minister Dr. Mustafa Barghouthi in Ramallah on Wednesday that her party recognizes PA national unity government and has good relations with all PA ministers without any exception or discrimination.
During the meeting Linde called upon the Swedish government to deal equally with the PA government and all its ministers. Her party is considered the largest in Sweden and governed for long periods until the last elections in June 2006.
For his part Barghouthi briefed the secretary on the recent atrocities committed by the IOF troops which left more than 70 Palestinian victims since the PA national unity government emerged two months ago.
Barghouthi also talked about the difficult conditions in the Palestinian lands due to the strangling siege and the Israeli holding of $850 million collected from Palestinian tax revenues.
He explained that Israel adopted in the Palestinian lands an apartheid system worse than the one that used to prevail in South Africa through the building of the racist separation wall the isolation of Jerusalem and the dismemberment of the West Bank with almost 1000 barriers.
He opined that the Israeli government was weak and could not serve as a peace partner because of its refusal to deal with the PA initiative to achieve a comprehensive reciprocal and simultaneous calm.
