Tuesday 3-August-2021

Israeli media sources revealed on Tuesday that the Israeli Ministry of Housing intends to promote a huge settlement plan in the Atarot settlement on the lands of the abandoned Jerusalem International Airport “Qalandia” north of Occupied Jerusalem.

The Hebrew news site Walla said that this settlement plan will be discussed during the first visit of Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to the White House later this month.

The plan includes building about 9000 new settlement units aiming to expand and change the boundaries of Jerusalem and to isolate the nearby Palestinian villages.

Furthermore there are other facilities are planned to be built such as industrial zones commercial centers operational areas a hotel and water tanks.

The website noted that over the years this settlement scheme has provoked strong political opposition in the United States and Europe and has been frozen and postponed by the office of former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
