OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– At least 100 fanatic Israeli settlers have stormed the Aqsa Mosque and sauntered inside it on Sunday evening under full protection of the IOF troops Palestinian sources in occupied Jerusalem affirmed.
Sheikh Abdul Atheem Salhab the head of Islamic Awkaf (endowment) council in occupied Jerusalem said in a statement to the PIC that the defilement of the Mosque was part of a racist Israeli scheme against the Mosque.
“During the past few days the IOA allowed large numbers of Jews to stroll in the Mosque’s plazas with the full approval and protection of the Israeli official institution which is considered a grave desecration of the Mosque’s sanctity” Salhab added.
The recent Israeli attempts to storm the Mosque were apparently spurred by a call made by Uri Ariel the head of the Israeli extremist Mifdal Party who openly urged his followers to storm the Aqsa Mosque.
As a result the Sheikh held the IOA fully responsible for any untoward repercussions that might result out of such “sacrilegious” attempts.
He also regretted the passive Arab and Muslim reaction towards those Israeli violations against the Mosque highlighting that the Palestinian citizens are doing their best in defending the Mosque and that Arab and Muslim peoples and countries must shoulder their religious obligations towards the Mosque as well.
In the year 2000 former Israeli premier Ariel Sharon who was then a minister in the Israeli government desecrated the Mosque under the protection of thousands of IOF troops spurring the eruption of the Aqsa intifada that claimed thousands of Palestinian and Israeli lives.
