Tens of thousands of Palestinian worshipers have been flocking to the Aqsa Mosque since the early morning hours of the last Friday in the holy month of Ramadan amid tight Israeli security measures.
Meanwhile the Israeli occupation police deployed hundreds of its members in the Old City of Jerusalem and its vicinity and imposed movement restrictions on the Palestinians inside and around the holy city.
The police will allow women of all ages children under 12 and men over 40 to enter the Mosque without permits while others must obtain permits from the Israeli authorities to visit Jerusalem and pray at the Islamic holy site.
100 Palestinian citizens from the Gaza Strip over age 55 were allowed to enter Jerusalem to pray at the Aqsa Mosque.
