Tens of thousands flock to Aqsa Mosque for Friday prayer

Tens of thousands of Palestinian worshipers have been flocking to the Aqsa Mosque since the early morning hours of the last Friday in the holy month of Ramadan amid tight Israeli security measures.

Meanwhile the Israeli occupation police deployed hundreds of its members in the Old City of Jerusalem and its vicinity and imposed movement restrictions on the Palestinians inside and around the holy city.

The police will allow women of all ages children under 12 and men over 40 to enter the Mosque without permits while others must obtain permits from the Israeli authorities to visit Jerusalem and pray at the Islamic holy site.

100 Palestinian citizens from the Gaza Strip over age 55 were allowed to enter Jerusalem to pray at the Aqsa Mosque.

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– Tens of thousands of Palestinians listened to the khutba (sermon) and performed the Friday prayer at the Aqsa Mosque amid tight Israeli police measures.

Israeli police forces restricted the movement of Palestinian citizens on the streets of Jerusalem intercepted hundreds of young men and confiscated their IDs at the Mosque’s gates before allowing them in according to local sources.

In his khutba Sheikh Mohamed Salim called on the leaders of the Palestinian people to repent of their disobedience to the Palestinian cause and stand united in the face of the occupation.

Sheikh Salim also urged the Arab and Muslim nations to be loyal to their fateful causes and follow the commands of their God and His Prophet Mohamed.
