A state of unrest prevailed inside the Negev prison on Saturday morning because of the Israel Prison Service’s (IPS) refusal to meet the demands of the Islamic Jihad-affiliated prisoners.
The Islamic Jihad prisoners according to a leaked letter gave the IPS until Sunday to provide them a section of their own.
They said that 170 prisoners affiliated with the Islamic Jihad Movement have threatened to start escalation steps if the IPS continued to refuse their demand.
The IPS usually procrastinates in meeting Palestinian prisoners’ demands under false security pretexts.
