Tension has prevailed in Israel’s Ofer prison following a violent search campaign into section 21 on Sunday a Palestinian prisoners’ NGO said.
In a statement the Palestinian Prisoner Society said Palestinian detainees in the Ofer prison closed their prison cells and refused to take their meals protesting Israeli Prison Service’s abuses and threats against one of their colleagues.
The NGO warned that tension would escalate between Palestinian detainees and the IPS staff over the targeting of some detainees.
Meanwhile seven Palestinian prisoners have continued their open-ended hunger strike for different periods in protest at their detention administratively with no indictments or trials.
