Monday 6-June-2022

General Secretariat of the Arab League called on the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities implement its decisions and obligate Israel to end the occupation and withdraw from all occupied Palestinian and Arab territories.

The General Secretariat said in a statement on Sunday issued by the Palestine Sector and the Occupied Arab Territories on the 55th anniversary of Israeli aggression on neighboring Arab countries “Despite the passage of more than five decades since the Naksa (Setback) and the long record of the occupation crimes and violations this will not change the fact that these Palestinian and Arab lands seized by Israel since 1967 are occupied lands in accordance with international law.

It explained that the anniversary of the Naksa this year coincides with a dangerous Israeli escalation represented by the intensification of aggressions and raids in Occupied Jerusalem enabling settlers to carry out their attacks on the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque desecrating Islamic and Christian sanctities and encouraging settlers to perform Talmudic rituals inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Arab League reiterated commitment to its central issue the Palestinian issue and support to the just struggle of the Palestinian people to achieve freedom independence and the establishment of its independent state on its national soil with East Jerusalem as its capital according to relevant international resolutions.
