RAMALLAH (PIC)– The PA prisoners and ex-prisoners affairs ministry affirmed that there are 55 Arab nationals detained in Israeli jails in harsh incarceration conditions and that the Israeli occupation government uses them to achieve security interests.
The ministry further added that many of those prisoners are Jordanians and Egyptians in spite of the peace pacts those two Arab states signed with Israel.
The ministry further asserted that although many of those captives have served their imprisonment terms Israel is still retaining them in jail under the “administrative detention”.
A report was also issued by the ministry on the difficulties those prisoners face in jails including denying them family visits or contacts with their loved ones among other unwarranted measures.
However the report pointed out that the only means of contact between those “forgotten” prisoners and their families is through Palestinian families visiting their jailed relatives and conveying messages of those Arab nationals to their respective families abroad.
