Thousands march in Tunisia to honor Zouari push for anti-Israel steps

Sunday 25-December-2016

Thousands of Tunisian nationals took to streets in the southern Tunisian city of Sfax on Saturday to pay tribute to the assassinated pro-Qassam scientist Mohamed Zouari.

Four marches kicked off jointly on Saturday afternoon from al-Zouari’s home Bab al-Diwan the regional Labor Union and the al-Lakhmi Mosque in honor of the drone engineer al-Zouari who was fatally gunned down outside his home in Menzel Sheker in Sfax last Thursday in a crime believed to be stage-managed by the Israeli Mossad.

The marchers raised the Palestinian Tunisian and Hamas flags and hoisted pictures of al-Zouari.

Al-Qassam Brigades said al-Zouari had assisted the anti-occupation drone program for over 10 years.

The rally-goers further chanted pro-Hamas slogans and urged the Tunisian government to criminalize normalization with the Israeli occupation.

“Death to the Israeli occupation” “Palestine is worth our souls” and “We want a national sovereignty” among other slogans were yelled out by the Tunisian masses.

Head of the Engineers Syndicate Ossama al-Khreiji urged the Tunisian government and judiciary to track down the real perpetrators of the crime and take a firm stance against Israel’s penetration of the Tunisian territories.

He further pushed for serious steps to impeach the Israeli terrorists responsible for such a heinous crime against Tunisia’s and the world’s most gifted drone engineers.
