Thousands of Palestinian citizens marched on Saturday in the funeral procession of Palestinian martyr Amjad Abu Alia who was killed yesterday during clashes with the Israeli occupation forces in Ramallah.
The procession moved from outside Ramallah Hospital in the city to Mughayyir village where his relatives and friends bade him a final farewell before performing the funeral prayer at a local Mosque and then laying him to rest at the village cemetery.
16-year-old Abu Alia was shot dead by Israeli gunfire during face-offs with extremist Jewish settlers and soldiers in the West Bank town of al-Mughayyir on Friday.
Several other Palestinians were also injured during these clashes which broke out after soldiers and settlers attacked a peaceful march staged by local residents and peace activists against Israel’s settlement expansion activity in the occupied West Bank.
