Thousands of Palestinian citizens marched on Wednesday afternoon in the funeral procession of 31-year-old journalist Ghufran Warasnah who was shot dead in the morning by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in al-Khalil.
The procession moved from outside al-Ahli Hospital in al-Khalil to al-Arroub refugee camp where her relatives and friends bade her a final farewell before performing the funeral prayer at a local Mosque and then laying her to rest at a cemetery in the camp.
During the funeral the mourners carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans urging the resistance to respond to Israeli crimes.
Earlier the IOF obstructed the movement of mourners at the main entrance of al-Arroub camp and attacked them with tear gas as they were trying to take the body of martyr Warasnah into the camp.
Journalist Ghufran Warasnah was shot dead in cold blood by an Israeli soldier at the entrance of al-Arroub camp in the morning.
The Israeli occupation army claimed she was approaching one of its soldiers in the area with a knife in her hand when he gunned her down.
