Thousands of Palestinian citizens marched on Monday morning in the funeral procession of 17-year-old Mohamed Zakarnah who was killed yesterday by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in Jenin City.
The procession moved from outside the government hospital in Jenin to the martyr’s home where his family bade him a final farewell before performing the funeral prayer at a local Mosque and then laying him to rest at the city cemetery.
During the funeral the mourners carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans calling for responding to Israeli crimes.
In mourning for the martyr the local storeowners closed their businesses while young men blocked external roads with rocks and burning tires to prevent the IOF from storming Jenin and its refugee camp once again.
Zakarnah was shot in his waist by Israeli undercover soldiers in the industrial zone of Jenin. The incident happened on Sunday when those soldiers targeted a car boarded by the mother of the Tel Aviv shooter Raad Hazem and other family members.
Later on Monday morning he was pronounced dead after medical efforts to save his life failed.
